Wangfubao, the online platform for individual fund investors jointly developed by Hengtian and State Street Corporation, made its first public appearance at Hangzhou Dianzi University on Nov. 12. To date, 2,300 users have made virtual investments using this unique 3D data virtualization tool. Jerry Cristoforo, the Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of State Street Corporation, introduced Wangfubao during his speech at the State Street Scholarship Awarding Ceremony. Cristoforo noted that young people in the U.S. are taught that their pension plans are their own responsibility, and he encouraged young people in China to make better use of opportunities and to expand their financial awareness.
Later this month, financial experts from State Street will give a series of lectures on fund investment to faculty and students at Hangzhou Dianzi University. A Mock Investment Competition will also kick off at the University on Jan. 8, 2015. In addition, State Street and Hangzhou Dianzi University are planning to co-establish curriculum related to fund investment. This curriculum will help fund investors learn to use the Wangfubao platform as well as teach them theoretical knowledge, fund investment techniques, and money management skills and strategies.
